Hypnotic brass ensemble double header!

I have seen the Hypnotic brass ensemble close up at a cracking gig in Brighton a year or so ago.
Electric is the word i can find to best describe their set. For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure yet, i seriously recommend doing what you can to purchase a ticket.
Consisting of 8 brothers, all fathered by one Philip Cohran, jazz musician and trumpeter for Sun Ra Arkestra.
All brothers were tutored in the musical arts whilst growing up, and have come together to form one of the heaviest sounding brass bands you are likely to hear.
They perform at two events in London in Nov;

1/ This is just a monster line up. Billed as 'Another Honest Jon's chop up' (chop up being the African slang for festival). The line up includes Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Phil Cohran & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Shangaan Electro, Theo Parrish
Fatoumata Diawara, M.anifest and Cheick Tidiane Seck. Unmissable!

2/ Hypnotic brass ensemble play the world famous Jazz Cafe in Camden. Supported by the amazing Hackney Colliery band and Mr Wah Wah himself, Dom Servini.

It looks like the Barbican gig may have sold out already, so dig hard. You will find.

Two biggies!

1/ On Friday we have the pleasure of hosting Mr Simon Lee from
Faze Action. Having seen Mr Lee play a number of times i can honestly say that it is a show i'm very much looking forward to.
In keeping with the Mile wide smile club ethic, Simon plays music from across the board and aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

If any of you beautiful people would like to come and join us for a good old fashioned stomp, follow the link below for more info;
Simon Lee / Mickey Duke / Chri5tian - Riki-Tik stomp!

2/ I have the pleasure of playing at the might Wah Wah 45 label night.
Quite simply entitled 'Wah Wah Live' this night is going to be a guaranteed smash!
An unbelievable line up that goes a little like this;
DJ'S; Greg Wilson, Gilles Peterson and MC Earl Zinger, Jazzman Gerald, Dom Servini, Scrimshire, Sampsa Vilhunen, Mickey Duke and DJ Konvex.
Live; Colman Brothers, Stac and Blue Daisy, The Boxettes, Scrimshire and Gideon Conn
On top of that there is the famous musical bingo, which is a must if you haven't played before.
I will be supporting Jazzman Gerald and Co, playing 'Tittyshakers', 'Surf rock' and '50's / 60's R&B'.
There won't be a better night out this year! Nuff said.

Mosaic meltdown; Omar, Don Letts, Miles Cleret.

So, Oct is on us and the last remnants of the Summer have been rinsed. Quite a remarkable couple weeks of weather have left me confused as to which season i'm living in.
However, two things are certain in Oct; 1/ The weather is certain to take a change for the worse, leaving me in no doubt of which season i'm living in. 2/ Brighton is bustling and the club night calender is bursting at the seams.
Just take a look along the right hand side of this blog and you will see what i mean, the list of quality nights out is a long one.

For this week, along with SBTRKT on Wed, this is the stand out night for Mile wide smile club;
